Minimizing Age of Collection for Multiple Access in Wireless Industrial Internet of Things

This paper investigates the information freshness of Industrial Internet Things (IIoT) systems, where each IoT device makes a partial observation common target and transmits update to central receiver recover complete observation. We consider age collection (AoC) performance as measure freshness. Unlike conventional (AoI) metric, instantaneous AoC decreases only when all cooperative packets for are successfully received. Hence, effectively allocating wireless time-frequency resources among devices achieve low average at is paramount. Three multiple access schemes considered in this paper: time-division (TDMA) without retransmission, TDMA with frequency-division (FDMA). First, our theoretical analysis indicates that retransmission outperforms other two terms AoC. Subsequently, we implement systems based on three software-defined radios. Experimental results demonstrate considering medium control (MAC) overhead practice, FDMA achieves lower than or high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime. In contrast, provides stable relatively over wide SNR range, which favorable IIoT applications. Overall, present theoretical-plus-experimental investigation systems.
